Palm Beach County Schools have officially gained their bragging rights this year by having ranked two of their schools in the country’s list of top 100 best high schools. US News & World Report just released this years rankings for High Schools in the country, of which over 21,000 schools across the nation were analyzed. The two schools in Palm Beach County, Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, and Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach, ranked number 61, and 82, respectively.
The thousands of schools that were compared went through rigorous steps, comparing test scores and calculating various other factors that would determine its overall effectiveness. The first and second step determined which schools best served all of its students as a whole, including those not college bound. It also included analyzing schools that best served its under-advantaged and minority students. The third step reviewed the schools college preparatory programs, analyzing AP and College Entrance Exam scores.
There were several schools in Florida that ranked in the top 100, as Gold Medal schools, including the Design and Architectural Senior High School in neighboring Dade County. The school ranked an impressive 5th in the nation.
