Turtle River Montessori, a private school in Jupiter, will have a new environmental friendly ‘green’ certified building for the 2009-2010 school year. Turtle River Montessori utilizes the Montessori teaching method, which allows the child to self-direct their daily activities, while teachers observe instead of giving lectures. The idea is based upon the idea that children are capable of self-directed learning, and that this method of learning is more effective than that of the traditional classroom style.
The new building will be completed this Fall, with students and teachers inside by November 12th, 2009.
